Classic Homes Breaks Ground on New Projects

New Russell Cabins underway

Russell Lands’ residential construction company, Classic Homes, LLC, has recently started three new cabin projects. Two of the cabins are custom lake homes being built for two families in the cabin section of The Willows. The third cabin, the Tree Top, is being built on Paddock Point in Russell Cabins at The Ridge.

The Willows Cabins

The two custom cabins are the first to be built in The Willows of Willow Point, which, is home to the newest cabin enclave in the Russell Lands On Lake Martin community. Initially opened in late 2018, The Willows first offered large, traditional homesites for custom lake homes. The Russell Cabin enclave was added in late 2019, and early interest generated these two new projects with others now in design.

The first project is an updated version of the Bird’s Eye cabin designed by Bill Ingram. The plan has been enlarged in the family room, master suite and outdoor living spaces to allow for comfortable visits for family and friends when they come to the lake.

The other design is a modified version of the Master’s Cabin designed by Scott Torode. This updated design has enhanced outdoor living space as well as increased family room space and additional storage space for water toys.

The Ridge Cabin—built for sale

This new cabin will be the 41st Russell Cabin built by Classic Homes in Russell Cabins at The Ridge. The plan being built for sale is the Tree Top design by Taylor Dawson. This is the perfect design for those that are looking for something different in a lake home.

Inside the Tree Top

We love the idea that the house is broken into two major “pod” sections. One “pod” is a one-story public space that features a gorgeous kitchen that opens to the family room and dining area. All of these rooms have fabulous lake views through the covered outdoor living space.

The other “pod” is a two-story structure that contains four bedroom suites and a second family space on the lake level. We call this the “Tree Top” because this cabin nestles nicely on tree-covered lots. All of the rooms have filtered views through the tree tops to the lake. This design thoughtfully creates an authentic lake experience.

The foundation for the Tree Top is nearly complete, and this home is scheduled for delivery in early spring of 2021. We have already selected the colors and finishes that make sense for a lake home, but we have plenty of time to make custom décor selections for a potential owner.

About Russell Cabins

We began building the “for sale” Russell Cabins in 2010. The concept has proven to be very popular expanding to four different locations: Nichols Cove, Rose Point, Russell Cabins at The Ridge and Russell Cabins at The Willows.

The cabins are popular because they are designed for lake life. Cabin sites tend to be larger than average and Design Guidelines provide for smaller structures than traditional areas and with larger setback requirements to enhance space and privacy.
