Heritage Sales Off to a Brisk Start

We announced two months ago to everyone who had an early interest in Russell Lands’ newest lakefront development that we would review offers on Phase 1 homesites on July 18, 2022. We expected a tremendous amount of interest, but the number of offers exceeded our expectations.

Russell Lands received so many offers, it took two full days to review and determine the final outcomes. By the end of that two-day period, 39 properties were under contract. This is a great result given the fact that only 50 properties were available for sale on the opening day.

The Heritage has received a tremendous amount of interest from those who know and love Lake Martin. The property itself is very impressive. Phase 1 is part of a multi-phase, 1,500-acre master-planned community on Lake Martin. This property is located on the eastern side of Russell Lands’ 20,000-acre-plus land holdings with sparse development on this portion of the lake.

An important part of the master plan is a world-class golf course, Wicker Point Golf Club, designed by Coore & Crenshaw, who are considered to be the world’s leading golf course design firm. Those who made offers this week were able to tour the under-construction golf course. The results attest to their impression of the design and quality of the course.

The first purchasers in The Heritage Phase 1 will have an opportunity to have their lake home completed by one of Russell Lands’ Approved Builders within months after the completion and opening of Wicker Point Golf Club, which is scheduled for September of 2023.

Another key amenity to this gated community will be The Benjamin Lake Club. This club is part of the ownership privileges for owners in The Heritage. The waterfront lake club will provide a venue for weddings and other events. The club will have a fitness center, saline pool, waterfront parks and beach, community docks, event lawns, tennis and pickleball courts, and a tennis pro-shop. The Benjamin is scheduled for opening prior to the summer of 2025.

There are still several very attractive waterfront homesites available in Phase 1. The properties are large by Lake Martin standards—many over an acre with hundreds of feet of shoreline. Since there’s going to be a world-class golf course, it’s only fitting the property should be world-class as well.
