The Labor Day Music Fest will be back for year three on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads. Our Labor Day Music Fest brings two nights of some really great music! And for the third straight year, this event is FREE! Grab the family, friends, your comfy stuff, and cooler and join in the fun with great music from some rising artists! Of course, we’ll put out the bean bag toss, Giant Jenga, and hula hoops. Food vendors will be onsite.

On Friday, August 30, we are excited that The Bank Walkers and the Sweet Tea Trio will start the Labor Day Music Fest.

The Bank Walkers, Lake Martin’s favorite cover band, will kick things off at 6:30 with some new tunes on their set list, so make sure you claim your seat early!

Then at 7:45, the Sweet Tea Trio will take over. This group has recently made a few changes to their line up—reuniting two original members and the addition of a long-time friend—and are harmonizing once again all over the South! They’ve opened for legendary acts of all genres including Bon Jovi, Alabama, Kid Rock, Tracy Lawrence, Deana Carter, Scotty McCreery, Parker McCollum, RaeLynn and others.

Sweet Tea signed with Vector Management & Lost Highway Touring in 2017, and their latest project was produced by singer-songwriter, rapper and touring artist, Kid Rock. All meeting in Alabama, Kate Falcon from Southside, Taylor Morrison from Eufaula, and Savannah Sawyer from Opelika are the three ladies who make up Sweet Tea Trio. Don’t miss them!

As we move to Saturday, it’s exciting to have a couple of regional bands that are really taking off.

Driving up from the coast of Alabama, the guys from Funky Lampshade are back to try it again! Last year, they were here and ready to play, but the weather changed its mind. Hoping for drier days, these guys are ready to show you a good time. Funky Lampshades is a band that channels spirits of Funk, Soul, R&B, Jazz and Psychedelic music into modern terms with sly interpretation. Based out of Gulf Shores, Alabama, the band plays all throughout the Southeast bringing an upbeat conscious vibe to their following. They play at 6:30pm.

Then at 7:45, it’s Nik Parr + The Selfless Lovers! This band is a piano-driven rock n’ roll group from Austin, Texas. They tour nonstop, performing over 150 shows per year around the country.

Nik leads the band on vocals, saxophone and as a throwback rockin’ piano man while also working the crowd and bringing blistering energy to the live set with lots of sweat and saxophone solos. The group’s vintage sound is inspired by a mix of 60s and 70s rock n’ roll from The Rolling Stones, Jerry Lee Lewis, and ZZ Top to Bruce Springsteen and early Fitz and The Tantrums tunes.

Be on the lookout for their new EP American Lover Boy coming soon, recorded live on tape in Memphis at the legendary Sam Phillips studios.

We hope you’ll join us! Labor Day Music Fest 2024 promises to be the best ever.
