Local Festivals Celebrate Fall Season

Published: 09.26.2023

As we pass the first day of fall, we see the Alabama summer heat give way to cooler temps and the urge to spend time outdoors. What better way to usher in fall than spending time with family and friends? The Lake Martin area is home to a slew of fall festivals, providing those perfect weekend get-togethers throughout the month.

Fall Family Festival
Saturday, October 28 – 10am-1pm
Russell Crossroads

Bring the whole family out to this one-of-a-kind event! Not only will you find a working blacksmith and a grist mill, but you’ll be treated to a Pumpkin Patch overflowing with big orange pumpkins perfect for decorating at home. There will be games with cool prizes, wagon rides, and pony rides. Naturalist Marianne will be there with some of her creepy critters, and you’ll be able to feed real live animals in the petting zoo!

You could also win cash and prizes in our Blue Ribbon Canning and Baking Contests! You know what that means—dig out your favorite recipes for Granny’s pickled eggs, your favorite blackberry jam, and the ever-favorite apple pies, pound cakes, carrot cakes, turtle cheesecakes, and other delights. Surprise us with your hidden talents! And, we just might have a celebrity judge or two! If you are entering the contest, please have your items in place on the Town Green stage by 11:45am. For more info, email [email protected] or call 256.496.4232.

There is a fee of $25 per family (based on a family of four), and individuals are just $10. And if you need an additional pumpkin, they are just $5 each. This event just gets better every year! We look forward to seeing you from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, October 28. And, don’t forget to bring the kids.
