Music to Fill Downtowns of Alex City and Dadeville

After a year full of mandates and quarantines, spring is fully here, and it’s time to get outdoors with friends. If you like evenings of live music, Alexander City and Dadeville have treats for you all season!

Strand Sessions

First Thursday of the month, 6-8:30pm
Strand Park, Alexander City

Having kicked off with Daniel & McDaniel on April 1, the Strand Sessions are presented by the Lake Martin Young Professionals on the first Thursday of every month, April through August. Enjoy great tunes under the lights in the beautiful setting of downtown Alex City’s Strand Park. Guests are allowed to bring their own beverages and are encouraged to support the downtown merchants offering food and beverages. Next up are Suzanne Scholz and Charles Forbus on May 6! Learn more >

Blues in the Park

Saturday, May 15

Artists take the stage at 4pm
Strand Park, Alexander City

Blues in the Park organizer Tyrone Oliver said the May 15 concert is attracting attention. “We are getting calls from all over seeking information about rooms and places to eat. We think it is going to be great for Alexander City. This is going to be the biggest Blues in the Park we have ever had.”

Oliver, who has been helping with similar concerts across the Southeast for four decades, describes Southern Soul as “danceable, upbeat blues” music. This year’s acts include some who are currently being recognized in the Southern Soul circles including Jeter Jones, Nicky Caldwell, Stan Butler, West Love, Tasha Mac, Jali, Baddnewz and Cadillac Man.
