New Addition to Willow Point Community Coming Soon

Published: 05.20.2020

Roadbuilding crews pick up pace

Russell Lands’ roadbuilding crews are busy working on a new road that will provide access to some of the most desired property on Lake Martin. Work began in January and is on pace to be completed by mid-summer.

In 2008, the first waterfront homesites on Pitchford Hollow were offered on the south side of this beautiful shoreline. Since then, people who were “in the know” about Lake Martin have been waiting for development to begin on its northern shores.

That is why, when the first group of homesites developed on the north side were released in 2018, purchasers were quick to act. Those who had been watching and waiting for the northern shoreline property to be released quickly snapped up 20 homesites.

Not everyone who was waiting for an opportunity to own on the north side of Pitchford Hollow purchased in 2018, however. Many people have been waiting on the western end of Pitchford Hollow’s northern shoreline to come to the market. With the completion of the new road, their wait will be over!

About the new addition

The northern side of Pitchford Hollow is called The Willows of Willow Point. So far, we have released the first section of estate lots, Phase 3 (referenced above), and the cabin enclave, Russell Cabins at The Willows. Initial sales in both areas have been impressive. The new road work begins where Phase 3 ended and will continue to the long-admired western peninsula.

This new addition will be called The Willows Phase 4 and will consist of 29 new waterfront homesites including the property on the peninsula. Usually, homesites on Lake Martin have sloping land from the roadside to the waterfront requiring homes with walk-out basements. While some of these lots will have some slope, most of these sites will be ideal for crawl space foundations with a minimum of steps from the house to water level.

The Willows was previously the site of a collection of rented Russell Cabins. History buffs know that cabins usually occupy the best sites on the lake, since they were some of the first structures built and tenants would pick from choice property. These fabulous old cabin sites enjoy relatively flat land, beautiful mature forest, excellent views and great water.

What to look for

After the road construction is finished, we think that this collection of lots will be very appealing. With the pent-up interest, and with the collection of beautiful lake homes already located in Pitchford Hollow, The Willows Phase 4 will receive a lot of attention.

If you have interest in finding a homesite in The Willows, we recommend that you contact your Lake Martin Realty agent or visit our Agents page to connect with one. While it is too early to set a release date, we will keep interested parties in the loop on finish date, property availability and pricing at the appropriate time.
