The Heritage Continues Growth
Phase 4 road building underway

Published: 01.28.2025

The rapid growth of The Heritage continues into 2025 with the addition of the fourth enclave of waterfront estate properties. This phase is adjacent to The Benjamin Lake Club and across the cove from Wicker Point Golf Club. Given this location, potential owners will have unparalleled access to the full range of Heritage amenities. Download the master plan map >

Roadwork began at the end of November with our crews carefully clearing the planted longleaf pine plantation that The Heritage is known for. Progress is usually slower in the winter months, but our crews have been able to accomplish a significant amount of work without attracting any attention. In fact, we decided to release an updated map so those interested in property additions would know where to look!

This collection of waterfront homesites is located on what we call the central peninsula of the 1,510-acre development. The lots average approximately one acre and 245 feet of waterfront. Views vary from the beautiful and quiet cove shared with Phase 1, eastern views out to the big water, and views of the stunning Coore & Crenshaw-designed golf course.

Now that we are able to gain access to the property and that clearing is nearly complete, we are carefully laying out our homesite boundaries. We are using our normal care to protect the forest while locating the best homesites, views and shoreline access possible. This property is special, like all of The Heritage, and we want to make the most of this great opportunity.

Even though we are pleased with the progress, we are still months away from having paved roads into this area. In fact, given the winter rains, muddy worksite, and very large construction equipment, we are keeping access to the property to a minimum. For anyone wishing to sneak a peek of the property, we ask that you reach out to one of our Sales Executives to arrange access.

Everyone asks a few basic questions. Here’s our FAQ list:

  • Question – How many lots will be in Phase 4? Answer – We think we will have around 30-35 lots.
  • Question – When will the properties be available for purchase? Answer – Mid-summer at the earliest.
  • Question – What is the asking price for these lots? Answer – Since we have not finished the lot design and layout yet, pricing is premature. The size and quality of these properties are similar to Phase Three lots which sold from $800,000 to $2,750,000.
  • Question – Who can design a house or build a house? Answer – We have an extensive list of approved homebuiders, architects and designers. Only those approved by The Heritage Architectural Review Committee may provide those services. See Approved Builders, Architects & Designers >
  • Question – How many properties are currently available for sale? Answer – We have developed 120 waterfront properties to date, and we have sold or agreed to sell 116 of those properties.
  • Question – When will The Benjamin Lake Club be completed? Answer – The Benjamin, which is open to all property owners, will be open by Memorial Day of this year. Our timing for Phase 4 was to coincide with this opening.
  • Question – Do property owners of The Heritage have the use of Wicker Point Golf Club? Answer – Wicker Point Golf Club is a private club, and while initial property owners may apply, membership applications are supplied and approved only by the Wicker Point Golf Club Board of Directors.
