Master plan reflects new additions

Russell Lands continues to advance the development of The Heritage, Lake Martin’s most amenity-rich community. The creation and growth have been so brisk, our renderings become outdated before the ink dries. The most up-to-date Master Plan map below shows several of those recent updates.

Notable additions to the development are the construction of The Benjamin Lake Club (due to open in early June 2025) and the Wicker Point Golf Club’s cottages, surrounded by holes 11, 12, 13 and 14.

The Benjamin Lake Club will provide gathering spaces and recreational opportunities for property owners in The Heritage. The centerpiece is the two-story clubhouse, where the main level will provide large gathering spaces suitable for receptions, community events, and more. With its owners’ bar, adjacent meeting room, and expansive lake views, this will be a much-appreciated space. The lower level offers a large fitness room, aerobics room, treatment rooms, and locker rooms.

The Benjamin will also provide good reasons to get outdoors. Adjacent to the clubhouse is the resort pool complex (two pools), a snack bar, and a beautifully landscaped trail system which leads to a lovely amphitheater, lakeside beach, and community dock system. Near the clubhouse is the tennis and pickleball facility (eight courts of each), pro shop, event lawns, and parking areas.

The golf cottages will be available for guests of Wicker Point Golf Club members. Initially, there will be seven buildings with a mixture of 2-room and 4-room structures (24 total rooms). The concept is for use as either a single 4-star hotel-style room with adjacent living spaces or as a complete building in the case of a family or a “friend trip.” The first of these cottages will be available for use this summer.

The most significant development is the early addition of waterfront estate homesites on the Wicker Point peninsula. This collection of lots (in yellow) consists of 30 large lots, averaging one acre and 250 feet of waterfront. Phases 1 (released in 2022) and 2 (released in 2023) had approximately 80 properties, and only 2 of those are still available. This sales pace advanced the release of Phase 3 by two years.
